Reflections from Danna: June 2025—Sacred Union, Sacred Power

Lit with Intention, the Monthly Spark—to Illuminate Every Area of Your Life

Beltane’s Blessing- Honoring the fire where opposites meet

The beautiful theme for June segues from May Beltane. As we cross the threshold into June, the fire of Beltane still flickers in our collective memory. This ancient Celtic festival, traditionally celebrated around May 1st, marks the height of spring and the turning toward summer. A celebration of fertility, vitality, and the sacred union of opposites—Beltane honors the life-force energy that arises when Earth and Sky, Masculine and Feminine, Spirit and Body come into harmony.

This month’s theme, Sacred Union, Sacred Power, springs from that same luminous well. It invites you to explore the alchemy that unfolds when your inner feminine and masculine meet—when your softness partners with your strength, when intuition dances with clarity, when presence fuels purposeful action.

Swinging the Pendulum

I’ve come to see that going “all in” at the start of something new—a job, a wellness routine, a relationship—can be a beautiful way to build momentum. It’s how we learn, grow, and connect deeply with what lights us up. But sometimes, in the fullness of that devotion, other parts of life fall to the side—or we burn out on the very thing we once loved.

A few years ago, I joined a lovely neighborhood yoga studio and threw myself into the practice—four classes a week, then an early morning advanced class. I was all in, and it felt so good. Until I got restless. My body started asking for something different—more strength, more grounding. So I pivoted to personal training, and now I’m stronger than ever and my posture is amazing! But I lost some of that fluidity and stillness along the way. This week, I  had a very clear and strong knowing of how to balance it all out, to make a change.  I joined a Pilates studio to weave it all together. That’s how I find balance and wholeness—with intention, curiosity, and the grace to shift when something new wants to emerge.

That’s the rhythm of so many beginnings. Like the early days of a new relationship, when the pendulum swings toward total togetherness—date nights that stretch into morning, that delicious “just us” bubble. It’s one of the most luscious, exuberant times in romance. And then, the pendulum softly steadies. As trust deepens and the foundation strengthens, there’s space again for friendships, creative projects, and the beautiful balance of life as individuals and a couple.

It’s similar [for many of us] when we begin a new job or take on a big project. The pendulum swings to total immersion—early mornings, late nights, notebooks filled with ideas, and that electric rush of building something new. It can feel invigorating, even all-consuming, as you devote your focus and energy to learning, leading, or launching. And then, as you find your rhythm, gain confidence, and solidify your role, the pendulum begins to settle. You arrive at a new center—where grounded clarity and deeper integration invite in a more sustainable flow. A flow where your work still thrives, but space opens again for friendships, family dinners, dance classes, and quiet mornings—where the wholeness of your life is once again part of the picture.

And now, let’s zoom out even further. Because the pendulum hasn’t just swung in our personal lives—it’s swept through culture and collective consciousness too. In the wake of deep-rooted inequality, feminism rose as a fierce and necessary flame. It gave voice to silenced truths, to pain long held in the body, and to power that had been withheld. It was, and continues to be, a vital force for change.

But in some spaces, the swing went so far that it tipped into a different kind of imbalance. Men became the problem, rather than partners in transformation. Independence hardened into isolation. Strength into separation. Somewhere along the way, the sacred masculine was pushed aside—misunderstood, diminished, or dismissed entirely.

I remember standing in a circle of women—one, a proud business owner, was being congratulated. Another chimed in, “Way to go—girl power! The future is female. We don’t need men to be successful.” Her 11-year-old son stood quietly nearby. I was stunned. I didn’t have the words at that moment. But I do now.

Is this truly who we are? Women who separate ourselves from the other half of humanity? Who rise by diminishing instead of uplifting? Who teach our children—especially our sons—that they no longer have a place in the story? That somehow, balance means erasure?

That blue-streaked imbalance has, in some places, become a pink one—smeared with shame and blame. But that’s not the medicine we carry. The real power of the feminine is in our ability to gather, to collaborate, to merge energies and create new life—literally and figuratively. If we can form an entire human being from the union of egg and sperm, surely we can co-create a world that honors the brilliance of both.

Just like in our bodies, our relationships, and our work—it’s time to recalibrate. Not to return to old paradigms, but to rise into a new one. One where we no longer have to choose between power and partnership, sovereignty and softness, or feminine wisdom and masculine clarity.

Let’s Light the Way Together,

XO, Danna
