Integrate & Prepare – Weave the lessons, refine your vision, honor the turning of the year

As the wheel turns from the Autumn Equinox into the darkening days, we stand at Alban Elfed—“The Light of the Water”—a moment of perfect balance between light and dark.

This sacred threshold invites us to pause in reflection, to release with gratitude what no longer serves, and to begin the inward journey toward winter’s stillness.

October’s theme, Integrate & Prepare, rises from this balance point. It calls us to gather the harvest of the year—inner and outer—and weave it into wisdom. Integration is more than looking back; it is consciously placing the threads of our choices, lessons, and transformations into a tapestry that will carry us forward. Preparation is more than planning; it is tending the soil of our lives so that the seeds of next spring will have fertile ground.

✨ What does this look like at home? In your relationships? At work?

For me, October is a month of full embodiment- how can I integrate all of the lessons, the love, and the luscious bounty into my life if I’m not fully in my body? And, how can I prepare to nurture what is precious to me if I am not grounded with the planet I walk on daily? I have completed a year of energy therapy sessions, a year of twice weekly exercise classes (moving from strength training to Pilates, and almost a year of partnership.

My Luscious Leadership definition of Embodiment is, “Presence expressed through your body.” Embodiment is inhabiting your body fully while rooted in soul. In life, it means savoring your senses, trusting your instincts, and moving with vitality. Instead of doing more, I’m shifting what and how I’m ‘doing’ so I can be present and really have a felt experience of what I choose to do. I have committed to 31 days of meditation through Dawson Church’s new Shift Network Course because is capitalizes on breath, somatics, tapping, coherence and is the perfect blend of science and spirituality.

Do you ever wake up feeling out of sorts? Out of your body, especially after a night of wild dreams, restlessness, or really deep sleep? The vision of ‘putting’ myself fully into my body, a few minutes on the vibration plate, some yoga and stretching followed by this very somatic meditation is fully preparing my body and soul to be fully grounded and present with the day.

In love, it’s intimacy expressed and enjoyed through touch and energy. I love how Brene’ Brown talks about how love is rarely 50-50 and more a constant evolvement of who’s got 20 and who’s got 80, etc… to create that 100% - or to create a plan of care when you can’t get to 100 together. I have been in a season of learning how to be willing to be with what is, strategize, and lean into my individual wellbeing and together care.

In work, it’s using your body as an instrument of grounded flow. To be embodied is to live where body and soul move as one. Ever notice how much energy it takes to do something you aren’t good at, doesn’t come naturally, or just isn’t fun or interesting to you? While we can’t ignore or avoid all of those things, leaning into your strengths and zone of genius fosters an environment where your body truly is an instrument of grounded flow.

So how do we take this out into the world?

Just as the trees release their leaves to nourish the soil, this month asks us: What are you ready to release with love so your life may be nourished? What vision is quietly forming in you, preparing to be birthed when the light returns?

Integration and preparation cannot happen without the softness of soul and the breath of being fully in your body to receive. When you live embodied, you don’t just think your way into wisdom—you feel it, hold it, and allow it to move through you.

This season calls us to release with tenderness, to weave with presence, and to prepare with devotion. Not as effort, but as rhythm. Not as performance, but as nature’s own cycle lived through us. And so the invitation of October is this:

✨ Let your integration be an act of grace.

✨ Let your preparation be an act of devotion.

✨ Let your embodiment be the bridge between the two.

When you embody this balance—of reflection and readiness—you become a living rhythm of the season itself: releasing, weaving, preparing, trusting.

Let’s Light the Way Together,

XO, Danna
