Lit with Intention, the Monthly Spark—to Illuminate Every Area of Your Life
April arrives carrying the unmistakable energy of awakening and renewal—the sense that life is stirring again, ready to be felt, lived, and expressed. If March was about emergence and flow, April is where that movement begins to land in the body. Not a surge, but a steady return. What has been opening now asks to be lived in real time.
I saw this so clearly this year through Zivah kitty. She just turned seven on the Spring Equinox, and watching her has been its own reflection of this season. Fully alive, still super playful and even more snuggly. Sitting by the now open french doors (with a screen) completely content, smelling the air and watching the movement of nature like her own personal National Geographic channel. And my joy when a fly gets in because I know for her, that’s a whole adventure—watching her innate predator come to life and take over her body. She’s also shedding her winter coat—releasing what’s no longer needed as the season shifts. There’s no forcing in her. No overthinking, a natural rhythm lived out.
And I’ve noticed that same rhythm in myself. Over the past few months, as I’ve come out of winter’s solitude and deeper inner reflection, something has been gradually returning. Each month, a little more energy. A little more movement. A little more joy. And I’ll admit my Pilates practice—while consistent—has felt weak during winter, but is starting to feel stronger again as my body and mind awaken.
I literally feel more engaged and more present with people. I’m wanting conversation, interaction, and connection, and it’s easier than the late winter months. I’m doing some advisory work and my brain is so happy working with this leadership team to create new revenue streams, a new customer journey, a streamlined organizational structure. It’s the easiest and most challenging work for me, and I am always so grateful when I get to spend so much time in my zone of genius. It hits different in spring than in winter.
This is what awakening actually looks like. Not a sudden transformation—but a gentle return to life. And April holds that beautifully. Because awakening isn’t just awareness, it’s embodiment. And renewal isn’t something you chase. It’s something you tune into—by how you live, how you choose, and how you show up. The Field Guide words I’m carrying into this month—Embodiment, Practice, and Presence—bring this into form.
Embodiment – Presence expressed through your body.
Embodiment is inhabiting your body fully while rooted in soul. In life, it means savoring your senses, trusting your instincts, and moving with vitality. In love, it’s intimacy expressed and enjoyed through touch and energy. In work, it’s using your body as an instrument of grounded flow. To be embodied is to live where body and soul move as one.
April invites you out of your head and back into your body. To notice what feels open and what feels contracted. To let your body lead—not as an afterthought, but as your primary source of truth.
Practice – Devotion in motion.
Practice is the discipline that turns intention into embodiment. In life, it’s the rituals that ground and renew you daily. In love, it’s choosing to show up consistently with care and presence. In work, it’s the repetition that builds mastery and trust. Practice turns action into transformation.
This month is not about intensity—it’s about consistency. Small, repeated choices that bring you back to yourself. What you practice becomes your baseline. And April is asking you to choose that baseline consciously.
Presence – Be here, fully.
Presence is your capacity to show up calm, clear, confident—grounded and awake to the moment. Your energy is your signature. When you show up fully, you lead with integrity and influence. Presence creates clarity, connection, and trust.
Presence is also your reset point. When things feel off, scattered, or overwhelming, the return is simple: come back to now. One breath. One moment. One choice to be here again.
Together, these three create the rhythm of April: Embodiment brings you back into yourself. Practice sustains your renewal. Presence keeps you aligned in real time. So let April be the month where awakening becomes lived and where renewal becomes visible. Just like the spring flowers coming into bloom, let yourself bloom in your own timing.
And what if, just like the delight we take in walking through our neighborhoods—taking in the sight and scent of the blossoms—we could trust that the world receives us in the same way as we bloom? Each of us bringing something new into the world—our own blossom—contributing to its awakening and renewal.
Let’s Light the Way Together,
XO, Danna
